| The 1960s
was the decade of the Celtics with 9 of 10 championships.
The Pats had one strong year and the sox made the
world series in the impossible dream season of '67.
Near the end of the decade the B's drafted Bobby
Orr and finally made the playoffs again. |

| The 1970s
was the decade of the of the Bruins with two Stanley
Cup wins and 5 finals appearences. The Celtics had
great teams in the mid 70s, winning two championships.
The Pats had a moderately good team in the mid to
late 70s but not good enough. The Sox had decent
teams from 75-79 but could only make the world series
once. |

| The 1980s
saw the coming of Larry Bird. Thus the celtics were
one of the top 3 teams in the league for nearly
the whole decade. The Bruins, led by Ray Bourque,
had decent teams throughout the decade as well.
They had the best record in the league in '83 but
went to the finals only once in '88 to get spanked
by the Oilers. The sox were ok but the '86 team
took us one out from the winning the world series.
1988's Red Sox team was fun too but in playoff time
the A's were better. The Pats were an average or
below average team except for the mid 80s when they
became a cinderella team in the Super Bowl only
to be destroyed by the overpowering Bears. |

| The 1990s
were not a great decade for Boston
Sports. Larry Bird retired and the Celtics were
lost for the rest of the decade. The Bruins started
off the decade nice by making the finals for the
second time in three years but only to get spanked
by the Oilers again (they weren't swept though!).
The Red Sox were good enough to make the playoffs
a few times but no trips to the World Series. The
Pats started off the decade with a 1-15 season but
the draft of Drew Bledsoe and the team being sold
to Robert Kraft brought a Super Bowl appearance
and some fairly decent teams at the end of the decade. |

| The 2000s
started uneventful. However, in early 2001, Drew
Bledsoe got hurt and was replaced by Tom Brady.
Brady led the Pats to 4 Super Bowls in 7 years and
deep into the playoffs two other years. The Red
Sox finally won the World Series in 2004 and again
in 2007 whilst pulling together great teams for
several straight years. The Celtics were not worth
watching for pretty much the first 6 years of the
decade until Garnett and Allen arrived and brought
the C's their first championship in 22 years. The
Bruins were pretty much mediocre the whole decade. |
